Utah volunteers prepared 7,013 tax returns for free

In the 2026 tax season, 148 AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers in Utah each gave at least 40 hours, close to 6,000 hours in all, preparing returns at no charge. They helped 7,013 people file, about 12 percent more than the year before, and those clients received $8.2 million in refunds. Most of the clients, 79 percent, were over 60, and their average adjusted gross income was about $50,000. State coordinator Linda Oram thanked the volunteers for providing "this amazing service at no charge."
